A joint meeting took place at the SportAccord head office in Lausanne, invited by SportAccord President and IOC Member Patrick Baumann and attended by IOC Member Nenad Lalovic President of United World Wrestling, ARISF President Rafaelle Chiulli, AIMS Council Member Michal Buchel, AIMS President Stephan Fox and TAFISA Secretary General Wolfgang Baumann.

The meeting was held for the purpose of discussions between SportAccord recognised martial art and combat sports and TAFISA in regards to the organisation of martial arts games by TAFISA which permitted the participation of non-recognised combat and martial arts federations. The issue being that some of these federations were neither members of SportAccord nor were they WADA signatories or WADA compliant. This matter has also been acknowledged by the IOC.

The meeting was highly productive where the TAFISA General Secretary Mr. Baumann, reported that TAFISA has already decided not to further engage in the organization of combat and martial art games due to the uniqueness of combat sports and martial arts in general and to concentrate in Sport For all and Cultural Exchange. This can only be good news. Discussions also took place for the closer cooperation of TAFISA with SportAccord.
